About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog!

I'm Judy and I live with my husband and our dog, Gibbs, in a rural area of Virginia. Our two grown children, a daughter and a son, are both married with children of their own. We have three sweet, adorable grandchildren Are there any other kind?

I enjoy walking on an almost daily basis, reading a book so well written, it demands you finish it right now, drinking a soothing cup of hot tea, savoring a piece of dark chocolate, and cradling a grand baby.
I earned B.S. and M.Ed. degrees in Special Education. I retired, with mixed emotions, in June 2014 after teaching for over 35 years. I primarily taught K-2 children with mild disabilities who were included in the general education classroom for the majority of their day. I never tired of rising to the challenge of figuring out the best way to teach each child. More often than not, this involved adapting or creating resources. I stay connected with teaching and former colleagues by substituting a few days a month at the PreK-2nd grade school where I taught.

Opening a store on Teachers Pay Teachers has given me the personal opportunity for continuous challenge and growth along with a way I can share my ideas and resources with a wider audience. Most of the resources I create are appropriate for both on level and below level learners. They frequently include visual supports and options for reinforcing different levels of a skill.

As a life long learner, starting a blog is my newest venture. Stick around and see what happens!
